Terms of Service
Last updated: January 16, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Trofika ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our platform.
2. About Trofika
Trofika is an online marketplace that connects local farmers, producers, and sellers with buyers seeking fresh, local products. We provide the technology platform that facilitates transactions between buyers and sellers, but we are not a party to the actual sale. All transactions occur directly between buyers and sellers.
3. User Accounts
To use certain features of the Platform, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Keep your account credentials secure
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
- Be responsible for all activity under your account
You may create an account using your email address or through Google Authentication.
4. Buying on Trofika
As a buyer, you agree to:
- Provide accurate delivery information
- Complete payment for orders you place
- Communicate respectfully with sellers
- Report any issues with orders promptly
5. Selling on Trofika
As a seller, you agree to:
- Provide accurate product descriptions and images
- Honor the prices listed on your products
- Fulfill orders in a timely manner
- Comply with all applicable food safety and sales regulations
- Respond to buyer inquiries professionally
Payment Options
Sellers can choose to:
- Cash on delivery: Arrange payment directly with buyers upon delivery or pickup
- Card payments via Stripe: Accept credit/debit cards through our integrated payment system
If you choose to accept card payments, you must connect your Stripe account and provide the required verification information as required by Stripe and applicable financial regulations.
6. Products and Listings
Sellers are responsible for ensuring their products:
- Are legal to sell in the applicable jurisdiction
- Meet food safety standards where applicable
- Are accurately described and photographed
- Are available in the quantities listed
Trofika reserves the right to remove any listing that violates these terms or applicable laws.
7. Invoicing and Taxes
Marketplace Model
Trofika operates as a technology marketplace that connects buyers and sellers. We are not the seller of the products listed on our platform. When you purchase a product through Trofika, you are buying directly from the individual seller, not from Trofika. All sales tax obligations, including VAT/GST collection and remittance, are the responsibility of the individual seller, not Trofika.
Why Trofika Does Not Issue Invoices
Since Trofika is not the seller of the products, we do not issue invoices or receipts for purchases. We are a technology platform that facilitates connections between buyers and sellers, and we do not participate in the actual sale transaction between the parties.
For Buyers
If you require an invoice or receipt for your purchase, please contact the seller directly. Sellers are responsible for providing any documentation required for their sales. You can reach out to sellers through our messaging system.
For Sellers
As a seller on Trofika, you are responsible for your own tax compliance and invoicing obligations. This includes collecting and remitting any applicable sales taxes (VAT, GST, etc.), issuing invoices to buyers when required by law or requested, maintaining your own sales records, and complying with all tax laws in your jurisdiction.
8. Country-Specific Tax Information
Greece
If you are selling agricultural products in Greece, the following information may apply to you:
Small Farmers (Under 10,000 EUR Annual Sales)
Greek law provides simplified tax treatment for small-scale agricultural producers with annual sales under 10,000 EUR:
- You are generally exempt from VAT collection requirements
- You may not need to register for a tax identification number (AFM) for small-scale sales
- Simplified record-keeping requirements may apply
Registered Businesses and Larger Sellers
If you are a registered business or exceed the small farmer threshold, you must comply with standard Greek tax obligations including VAT collection and invoicing requirements. You should consult with a local tax professional for guidance on your specific situation.
Note: Tax laws change frequently. This information is provided for general guidance only and should not be considered tax advice. Please consult with a qualified tax professional in Greece for specific advice about your tax obligations.

Tax information for Canadian sellers will be available when we expand to Canada.

12. Limitation of Liability
